I’m Nancy McGushin—former Kindergarten teacher turned online growth strategist and the founder of Good Karma by Nancy.

After years in the classroom, I realized the same skills that made me an effective teacher—organization, empathy, simplifying complex things—were exactly what women entrepreneurs needed when it came to marketing their businesses.

So I made a shift.

Summer of 2024, I launched Good Karma with a mission to help small businesses grow through smart, intentional marketing—without the overwhelm.

At the heart of Good Karma is my belief in the power of positive action and its ripple effect. When small businesses are supported and empowered, entire communities benefit.

I may have traded lesson plans for ad dashboards—but the mission is still the same: to guide, support, and cheer you on every step of the way.

I’ve always believed that good things happen when you put good into the world.

That belief led me through my years as an elementary teacher, where I poured my heart into helping kids learn and grow.

But as much as I loved teaching, I knew I wanted something more—something that gave me the flexibility to be present for my family while still making an impact.

That’s when I discovered the power of digital marketing. I saw firsthand how overwhelming it could be for small business owners—especially moms—trying to juggle everything while growing their dream.

I knew I could help.

So, I took my skills and built Good Karma, a place where small businesses could get marketing that actually works—without the guesswork, stress, or wasted ad spend.

Now, I get to help small business owners turn their passion into profit, grow their businesses with confidence, and create the freedom they deserve—all while showing up for the life they love.

Because success isn’t just about numbers; it’s about balance, fulfillment, and making an impact on our own terms.

I offer a range of services all related to Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) in addition to my course, Run Your Own Ads.

The course, RYOA, teaches business owners how to effectively set-up, create, launch and scale their paid advertising step by step.

Good Karma community — hello! I’m Kristen. I’m a former teacher of 14 years, a mom to a 16-month-old, an outdoors enthusiast, and a huge bookworm. I’m thrilled to be joining the team as Good Karma’s go-to gal for all things copywriting.

About nine years into my teaching career — on a random rainy Sunday in Denver — I felt a sudden, intuitive nudge calling me back to writing. Feeling stuck in my career, I made it my mission to pursue my passion.

I graduated with a master’s degree in writing from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, in January 2022. Since then, during my work as a freelance copywriter, my blogs have been published on websites across a variety of industries, including fitness and beauty, health and wellness, education, and home organization.

I’m deeply passionate about the written word and the power it has to contribute to a business. There’s nothing I love more than tapping into the human psyche to address potential pain points, tailoring content to meet your unique brand voice, and using writing to educate an audience, no matter where they’re at in the buyer’s journey.

I take great pride in crafting and delivering original, quality content — content that tells the story of the “why” behind your brand, who you are, and what you do. I’m thrilled to be a small part of Good Karma, and to be a small part of helping you grow your business!
